Taaza Khabar 2 officially has an antagonist a day before the release of the series. It’s none other than Jaaved Jaaferi who joined the cast in a negative role alongside Bhuvan Bam in the upcoming series. In the show, Bam’s character will directly have to face off with Jaafery’s rage. During an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Bam announced Jaaved Jaaferi’s entry into the show which has a Takeshi’s Castle connection.
For all the 90s kids Takeshi’s Castle isn’t a strange name as Jaaved’s hilarious voiceover has conquered the hearts of many at that time. Let’s dig into the complete details of this upcoming series.
Bhuvan Bam revealed how he approached Jaaved Jaaferi for the role
Bam discussed in detail the process of making the talented actor in the film. Despite hesitating at first the much-loved influencer gathered the courage to convince Jaaferi to act in such a dark character which he had never done before.
In fact, the show has a surprising link with Jaaferi’s popular show Takeshi’s Castle which increased the hype of the show a lot.
Bhuvan told the outlet, “The day when the trailer for Takeshi’s Castle was released, I called Jaaved Jaaferi sir. I was scared because stepping into his shoes and doing something like this was a big thing for me. It was a great opportunity for me and that is why I said yes. I called him and said, ‘Sir, main Bhuvan baat kar raha hoon (My name is Bhuvan). Takeshi’s trailer has come today’. He said, ‘I watched it. It’s good, it’s very good. Let’s meet sometime. I have seen your work’. I felt like this was an ‘out of syllabus’ conversation for me.”
Interestingly it was this time that while conversing with the actor Bhuvan requested him to be on the show.
He continues, “It was then that I told him that we are doing the second season of Taaza Khabar and that it would be my honor to share the screen with him. That is when we pitched it to him because casting an antagonist is a very difficult task. You bring those same faces and people have an idea how they will behave. No one has seen JJ sir in that avatar. I have not seen it myself. When he stands in front of me on the screen, when he delivers the dialogues, you just can’t make out whether it’s the same Jaaved Jaaferi.”
Moreover, Bhuvan also praised his co-star adding he has done a ‘fabulous job’ in the upcoming venture.
Taaza Khabar 2 will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on September 27.
