James Corden reacts to the recent Late Late Show. The famous host allegedly copied the joke, Ricky Gervais, in the 31st October episode of his famous Late Late Show. On November 1, The 44 finally reacted to the criticism he is facing right now on Twitter.
James Corden said Inadvertently said the Ricky Gervais joke
On November 1, Corden took to Twitter to explain the situation. Apparently, his joke was similar to one Ricky shared in the stand-up special. He received a lot of backlash for plagiarising the joke.
“Inadvertently told a brilliant Ricky Gervais joke on the show last night, obviously not knowing it came from him. It’s brilliant because it’s a Ricky Gervais joke. You can watch all of Ricky’s excellent specials on Netflix. J x”- the Cats alum tweeted.
“When you see Elon Musk talk about Twitter, he does this thing where he goes, ‘It’s the town square, But it isn’t, because if someone puts up a poster in a town square that says, ‘guitar lessons available,’ you don’t get people in the town going, ‘I don’t wanna play the guitar!’ But that sign wasn’t for you, it was for somebody else—you don’t have to get mad about all of it.”- James said in the show.
After this criticism, Gervais tweeted “The bit about the town square advert for guitar lessons is brilliant.”
However, the 61-year-old deleted the tweet as he felt sorry for Corden. Defending him he said, “I reckon one of the writers came up with it for him, I doubt he would knowingly just copy such a famous stand-up routine word for word like that.”
Prior to this incident, Corden was also called out for being rude and arrogant towards his staff on the late late show.
