Jamie Foxx isn’t shy to accept his mistake. The actor issues an apology statement for attacking the Jewish community in a recent controversial post. On Aug. 4, on his Instagram page, the Oscar winner wrote, “THEY KILLED THIS DUDE JESUS… WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY’LL DO TO YOU???! #fakefriends #fakelove.” After this, he was accused of antisemitism and started getting a lot of backlash and criticism from the users. However, Foxx is now regretting his comments and issuing an official apology to the people of the community.
Jamie Foxx said he loves and supports the Jewish community
The 55-year-old wrote on his Instagram page, “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent.”
Later on, he explained his comments writing, “To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that’s what I meant with ‘they’ not anything more. I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended. Nothing but love always, Jamie Foxx.”
Moreover, as per a screenshot image shared by the Jewish news Instagram account A Wider Frame, actress Jennifer Aniston is also seen liking Foxx’s controversial post. Afterward, the Friends star also received a lot of backlash. However, Aniston didn’t waste any time and issued an apology of her own.
The 54-year-old wrote on her Instagram story, “This really makes me sick. I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.”
