Bennifer’s love ultimately comes to an end. Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from her husband Ben Affleck after 2 years of marriage. The “Waiting for Tonight” singer and the Air star tied the knot in 2022 after rekindling their romance. As per the sources of multiple outlets, the court documents revealed that Jlo officially submitted divorce documents in L.A. County Superior Court on Aug. 20.
According to the filing obtained by TMz, the date of separation is listed as April 26, 2024. Moreover, an insider also told NBC News that the pair didn’t have any prenuptial agreement which means the asset earned by the former couple will be considered as community property.
The timeline of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce
The rumors of martial stiff between the couple began in May of this year after the Hustlers star arrived solo at 2024. The event was also co-chaired by “The Boy Next Door” star in New York City.
However, Ben’s rep denied the break-up news at the time by revealing the reason for the actor’s absence was his busy schedule for filming The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles.
Despite being spotted together multiple times in L.A, some outlets reported the duo is living apart amid the relationship trouble. By July, the actor-director had also purchased a five-bedroom home in L.A. while Lopez sold her NYC penthouse for $23 million.
The last time they were spotted together was on 15th August at the moment of celebrating Ben’s 52 birthday.
The Romance History of Bennifer
The couple first linked up together decades ago in the mid-2002. Named Bennifer by multiple tabloids at that time they even got engaged in the same year and planned a wedding in the subsequent year. However, they ultimately called off their engagement in 2004.
They later moved on Instagram, Jennifer married Marc Anthony with whom she shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme. On the other hand, Ben tied the knot with actress Jennifer Garner and became the parents of Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
However, their love story didn’t come to an end as after two decades they rekindled their romance in 2021 and later walked down the aisle yet again.
