The 30+ city tour in support of her new album, This Is Me… Now would have been her first tour in five years. Representatives from Live Nation said in a statement, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
Moreover, Lopez also issued an apology in a message to her fans via her OntheJLO newsletter.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” the ‘On The Floor’ singer wrote. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
The shocking decision comes amid speculations of a rift between JLo and her husband Ben Affleck which started after the couple wasn’t spotted together for more than 40 days. However, Lopez recently shut down the rumors of a split while promoting her new Netflix movie, the Brad Peyton-helmed Atlas.
As per the video of the press conference, when the actress was asked about the split her co-star, Simu Liu, took her stand by saying, “OK, we’re not doing that.”
“You know better than that,” responded Lopez. As Liu puts it, “Don’t come in here with that energy, please.”
The actor also added, “Jen is a producer on this movie, and the reason why I’m here and the reason Sterling [K. Brown] was in this beautiful movie is because Jen cares and Jen cares about things like representation and diversity, and she’s a boss and she’s an incredible creative and an icon and that’s what I think we should celebrate her for today.”
According to the sources, despite going through a hard time in their marriage, Affleck is trying to keep his wife and children safe and happy as he and Lopez work through resolving their issues.
