‘Jigra’ teaser trailer is finally out now! The Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina-starrer’s much-awaited movie is based on the narrative of a sister who crosses all the limits to protect her younger brother. The upcoming venture which is written by Debashish Irengbam will show Alia in a never-seen-before grey character of a protective sister who strives to guard her brother played by Vedang Raina.
On September 9, the makers dropped the official teaser trailer of the Vasan Bala directorial. This is the second project and film debut of Vedang who first debuted in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix 2013 series The Archies. As for Alia, she last appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh. Let’s dig into the entire details of this segment.
The trailer release date of ‘Jigra’ was announced on 8th September
On 8th September, the makers announced the trailer release date of the upcoming venture which is today, 9th September.
The post noted, “Ek hazaaron mein… #JIGRA TEASER TRAILER OUT TOMORROW AT 11AM.”
In the 2-minute 49-second teaser the strong bond of a brother and sister is beautifully depicted here. The video starts with Alia’s character talking about how she has no one in her life except her brother. With the “Phoolon ka Taaron” song playing in the background, the adamant sister is shown beating all odds just for the sake of her brother played by Vedang who is imprisoned in a foreign prison. In her heart-heading expedition, she found the help of Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran.
This is the first time the National Award winner will appear in an action-packed character.
Prior to the trailer several posters of the film have been unveiled.
Apart from the acting, Alia will also serve as the producer of the project along with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra, and co-producer Marijke DeSouza.
This upcoming venture is Bhatt’s second production after Netflix’s thriller-comedy Darlings. The 31-year-old’s production house Eternal Sunshine has taken on the gig.
On top of that, she also has some interesting projects on her plate such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, where she can be seen next to her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal.
Jigra will storm the big screen on October 11.
