Joe Alwyn praised ‘Kinds of Kindness’ co-star Emma Stone during his red carpet appearance at the New York premiere of the film, held at the Museum of Modern Art on June 20. While conversing with Entertainment Tonight on the carpet the actor revealed why Stone is one of the best actors he has ever worked with. Let’s check out what he has said of his co-star.
Joe Alwyn said he is so lucky to be close to her
Addressing Stone’s remarks during the production of the film calling Alwyn “one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet” the actor said, “Well, I would say [that] back, yeah.”
The 33-year-old later praised his co-star, saying “I’m so lucky to be close to her, she’s just the best. She’s obviously wildly talented and she’s just the best.”
The duo’s bond formed due to her friendship with his ex, Taylor Swift. Stone and Swift have been pals for more than two decades, and have publicly cheered each other throughout the years.
“I love Joe,” the Oscar Winner said of Alwyn. “We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.”
The comment was made long before Alwyn’s breakup with Taylor Swift in April 2023 after six years of dating.
Moreover, Alwyn also talked about his experience of working with the ensemble cast of ‘Kinds of Kindness’ including Stone, Athie, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, and Hunter Schafer.
“It’s so nice. It’s like a little theater troop. Everybody changes part in each story, and when you’re with people you trust and you respect and you love, it makes it a whole lot easier,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun.”
As for the film, based on its official synopsis, the Lanthimos-helmed dark dramedy is “a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing at sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.”
Kinds of Kindness was released in theatres this Friday, June 21.
