Joe Jonas turned down the rumors that his latest album People Who Believe in Love is about estranged wife Sophie Turner. In an interview with Billboard published on August 27, the Jonas brothers member revealed he would never intend to aim harm at his ex. The former couple, who share daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 2, parted ways last year after Joe filed for divorce. However, the reason for their separation hasn’t been disclosed yet. Although the divorce was amicable at first it later turned out quite contentious due to the custody battle of their kids. For now, things are going a little better between them. Let’s dig into what the singer has said.

Joe Jonas is not trying to come for anyone on this album

Jonas addresses the rumors noting, “It was scary at times, and also freeing. I’m not trying to come for anyone on this album. I’m not trying to put stuff on blast.”

The 35-year-old also revealed to be the happiest man right now as he shared, “I have a beautiful life that I’m grateful for. I’ve got two beautiful kids. I’m a happy person, and the music needed to resemble that—but also, the journey to get here.”

“I was going through a lot of life changes,” the singer continues, “finding out who I was as a person and father and friend and living under the microscope of what the music industry can be. And I think, at such a crazy time in my life, I looked to music as an outlet.”

Despite not focusing on his breakup this album will depict his inner world as he shared in an earlier interview with SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in July.

Joe explained of the album which is all set to come on October 18, “This is the most personal music I think I’ve ever written in a body of work. I wanted it to be my voice and not three guys or DNCE because it’s weird when somebody else is speaking from your experience sometimes.”

The ‘Cake by the Ocean’ singer added, “You can make this a generalization, saying, ‘All right, this is what we all go through. We’ve all gone through something like this in our life, whether good or bad or heartache. For me, I was like, ‘This is something that I feel like it’s hard for me to just share with anyone.’”
