Joe Jonas seemingly mentioned his high-profile separation from his wife Sophie Turner in his new song. On a May 29 TikTok video, The Jonas Brothers singer lip-synced his untitled track which showed him riding his bike along a path next to a green field. The lyrics of this track supposedly describe the hard stage he is going through after parting ways with the Game of Thrones star with whom he tied the knot on 1 May 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The track of the tune noted, “Come on, Joe, you got so much more to be grateful for / Stop being sad because you’re making the room uncomfortable. OK, I get it, I know you’re feeling so miserable / Sometimes I wish I had powers to be invisible.”
The song continues, “Even baddies get saddies and that’s the hardest truth / Called your mommy and daddy, they don’t know what to do.”
The song comes eight months after Joe filed for divorce from Sophie after four years of marriage. As per the court documents obtained by E! News, the cause of their break-up is their “irretrievably broken” marriage and also the singer asked for “shared parental responsibility” of their two daughters: Willa, 3, and Delphine, 22 months.
The 34-year-old singer and the 28-year-old actress also shared a joint statement at the time of their separation. The statement reads,”After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
Although their separation initially seems amicable it soon turned into a feud after Sophie filed a lawsuit against Joe for the alleged “wrong retention” of their kids. However, they have eventually reached a temporary custody agreement leading to Sophie dropping her case in January.
Recently Sophie said in an interview with British Vogue that she was “unhappy with the way everything played out.”
“They’re the victims in all of this,” she said. “But I think we’re doing the best we can.”
As for the current status of her relationship with her ex, she noted,”I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that’s all that I can ask for.”
