The life and journey of Jyotica Tangri
Tangri received a quite simple upbringing from a typical Punjabi family in Jalandhar, Punjab. Having an immense passion for music from a very young age the singer has participated in numerous shows and competitions.
In 2015, she was an unplaced contestant in India’s popular reality show The Voice. However, in 2026 she got her breakthrough as a participant in the country’s most celebrated singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee TV as she became one of the finalists in the show.
Next year, Jyotica got her first playback singing gig in Ajay K Pannalal’s 2017 romantic comedy film, Behen Hogi Teri’s song Jai Maa. Composed by Jaidev Kumar and lyricised by Sonu Saggu, Sahil Solanki co-sung the song with her. Moreover, her second song also comes from this film which became critically acclaimed, entitled Tenu Na Bol Paavan Main along with Yasser Desai.
Simultaneously, she also sang a special version of the song Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga from Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend, originally sung by Arijit Singh and Shraddha Kapoor, penned by Manoj Muntashir, and composed by Mithoon.
Jyotica Tangri’s path to success
The singer finally got deserved recognition through the song Pallo Latke from Vinod Bacchan’s film Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda.
She also gave her voice in the female version of Ishq De Fanniyar from Fukrey Returns. The song Shubh Din from Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is also sung by her.
At that time, she also gave her voice to the Punjabi songs like “Kanda Kacheya”, “Jinne Saah”, and “Saari Raat”.
Sadly the name of this versatile singer is still unknown to many music lovers of this country.
