On Monday, actor Kangana Ranaut appeared before the court of the metropolitan magistrate in suburban Andheri due to a defamation complaint filed against her by Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar. She pleaded not guilty. This marks her third appearance before the court after Akhtar had filed the complaint against her in November 2020.
Akhtar accused Kangana of making defamatory statements against him in an interview. He said that the comments by Kangana Ranaut damaged his reputation. Akhtar further claimed that Ranaut defamed him during the interview while referring to a ‘coterie’ in Bollywood.
Coming to Kangana’s work, she will next appear in a political drama called ‘Emergency’. The actor will play the role of India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Ranaut will also produce the film. The film will reportedly be based on Operation Blue Star and Emergency. In addition to this, the actress will also appear as an Indian Air Force pilot in a film called ‘Tejas’, releasing on 5th October 2022. The plot of ‘Tejas’ revolves around how the brave soldiers of our country face numerous challenges to keep our country safe.
In addition, Kangana will be playing the role of goddess Sita in the film ‘Sita: The Incarnation’. The film will be reportedly released in five Indian languages and the director is Alaukik Desai. Next, the actress also has Manikarnika 2 under her umbrella.
