Karan Johar is all set to make a new Bollywood on-screen pair. The renowned owner of Dharma Productions announced the production’s new film ‘Chand Mera Dil’ starring rising stars Lakshya Lalwani and Ananya Panday opposite each other. Directed by Vivek Soni, the upcoming venture will probably grace the big screen in 2025. However, the official release date is yet to be unveiled.
This will mark the lead actors’ first time to share screen with each other. Panday who debuted under Dharma with Student of The Year 2 has failed to impress the mass audience with her performance. Meanwhile, Lakshya’s last movie Kill which is also backed by KJo’s Dharma made him gain immense popularity and appreciation.

Johar shared four posters featuring the new pair in a lovey-dovey avatar, captioning it, “We have two chands ready to bring an intense & passionate love story like no other!!! Pyaar mein thoda paagal hona hi padta hai..Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday & Lakshya. Directed by Vivek Soni. Coming to cinemas in 2025.””
Although the details of the movie are still under wraps, it can be assumed by the poster that this movie is going to be a coming-of-age romantic drama.
This new project followed Annaya’s recent appearance in Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL starring alongside Vihaan Samat. In this movie her performance as Nella, a young influencer who leans on AI for deleting the memories of her boyfriend Joe who cheated on her only to find out he vanished from the real world as well.
The portrayal of this troubled young woman earned her immense praise.
As for Lakshya, he appeared in the action-thriller Kill starring alongside Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala.
The story of this movie revolves around Amrit Rathod, an NSG commando, who with her long-term girlfriend Tulika boards a superfast express train from Ranchi to New Delhi to come across in a brutal combat against an army of invading bandits.
Needless to say, it’ll be incredible to see the actor’s transition from such a dark character in the upcoming venture.
