The former One Direction member’s emotional funeral service took place on November 20 one month after his tragic passing in Argentina.
The ceremony which was held in a church at Amersham in Buckinghamshire, north-west of London was attended by the deceased loved one including his parents Karen Payne and Geoff Payne, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who arrived early at the emotional ceremony as well as his ex Cheryl Cole, with whom Liam shared 7-year-old son Bear.
However, the main attraction of the intimate ceremony was the presence of Liam’s 1D bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Dressed in black the four of the members seemed immensely heartbroken with the loss of their friend. Talk Show host James Corden was also seen coming to the event with Styles.
Details about Liam Payne’s untimely death
Payne who was 31-year-old at the time of his death passed away after falling from the balcony of a third-floor hotel room in Argentina on Oct. 16.
As for the ceremony, the late singer’s body was brought in a beautiful casket, a flower garland writing ‘Daddy’ and ‘Son’ was on the top of it.
The funeral took place days after the autopsy and toxicology revelations.
A voice recording authorized by Telemundo from local media in Argentina and translated by NBC News noted, “We have a guest who is overindulged in drugs and alcohol. We need someone to be sent to us urgently, because—well, I don’t know if he is at risk. The guest is in a room that has a balcony and we are a little afraid that he might do something life-threatening.”
Additionally, the toxicology report disclosed that he was under the influence of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant at the time of his death.
The sudden death of the ‘Teardrops’ has changed the life of his loved one completely, especially his and Cheryl’s son Bear.
As the Girls Aloud member said in his Instagram post, “Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7-year-old son. A son who now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again. What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future.”
