Suryakant Sawhney prominently known as Lifafa is the brightest star of India in the indie music scene. Notable as one of the founding members of alternative rock band Peter Cat Recording Co along with Karan Singh, Dhruv Bhola, Rohit Gupta, and Kartik Sundareshan, Sawhney started his music Carr at a very young age.
With his incredible talent as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Lifafa is becoming one of the celebrated names in the Indie music scenario. The success story of Lifafa
Starting as a filmmaking student in San Francisco, Suryakant always had an immense passion for music along with filmmaking. The musician’s passion for music turned into a serious career in 2009 after he co-founded the prominent rock band Peter Cat Recording Co. In 2013, the New Delhi-based musician recorded a Jazz song for the band in India.
Suryakant who was 22 years old at that time led the band becoming the most experimental group in the country. After years of giving countless hits with Peter Cat the frontman, Suryakant unveiled his solo electronic project under the stage name Lifafa.
In 2013, he released his debut album Hi Ko which he stated was highly inspired by variations explored in the music of different parts of the world.
Among the countless works, the singer-songwriter’s 2019 album Jaago gained huge popularity among music lovers, especially its singles “Candy”, “Nikamma”, “Mere Saath”, “Ek Nagma”, “Din Raat”, and “Chaku Chidiya” became instant hits.
Following its success, Suryakant later released two back-to-back albums Ghar: Sounds of Raw Mango in the subsequent year and SUPERPOWER2020 in 2021.
