Lily Gladstone opened up about her ‘Titanic’ obsession. The actress played the role of Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in the much-praised film, Killers of the Flower Moon for which she even received a Golden Globe this year. On this Thursday Gladstone attended the 35th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart, where she unveiled a lot of facts about her co-star. Lily Gladstone said she made that ‘Titanic’ walk for Kate Winslet
While talking to Entertainment Tonight on the Gala’s red carpet the actress who looked dazzling in a shimmering green outfit revealed her high fascination with the James Cameron film.
“I [got] the double box set from Toys R’ Us,” Gladstone tells the interviewer at the Palm Springs Convention Center. “I got on the list early. I was in sixth grade, lived about two miles away from the Toys R’ Us. Mom was at work. Dad was at work, so I walked myself over… I’ve said this before. I made that walk for Kate. Leo did great in the film, but I made that walk for Kate Winslet.”
Moreover, the Academy winner shared an ugly part of history in the Martin Scorsese movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, where Leo played Ernest Burkhart while Gladstone played his wife, Mollie Burkhart, in the film, who were involved in real-life contract killings of several members of the Osage Nation.
“The whole story feels so epic because of how talented and committed and beautiful everybody involved was, so it’s fantastic,” the actress noted.
On top of that, Lily revealed how he and DiCaprio had become good pals while filming the movie.
“Oh yeah, we’re buds. We’ve stayed in touch. I found out about some of my Critics Circle wins from him, He texted me congratulations, and I was like, ‘Thanks! What’d I miss?’ So yeah, it’s great,” she revealed.
Killers of the Flower Moon has been receiving a lot of praise and recognition. Mostly Gladstone and DiCaprio for their breakthrough portrayal of this real-life criminal couple. The awards of the film include seven Golden Globes, including Best Actor and Actress nominations for DiCaprio and Gladstone, which Gladstone won by defeating Carey Mulligan, Annette Bening, Nyad, Greta Lee, Cailee Spaeny, and Sandra Hüller.
