Lizzo Hinted To Quit Hollywood Over Alleged “Lies” Spread About Her

Rapper Lizzo is done with Hollywood. The Grammy winner shared a cryptic note on March 29 addressing the “lies” that are told about her which has now become the cause of leaving the entertainment industry. The “Truth Hurts” artist has been out of the public eye since August 2023, when she was sued by three of her former dancers for allegedly creating an “abusive work environment” and weight-shaming them. Although she hasn’t directly pointed out about her departure still it’s quite evident from her post. Hence, let’s check out the complete details of this story. 

Lizzo said that she starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it

The 35-year-old worte in Instagram, “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”

Later on, she revealed the thing which hurt her the most is the criticism over her appearance. “I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views,” Lizzo whoes real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson continued, “being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.”

Moreover, she concluded her post writing, “didn’t sign up for this s–t. I QUIT.”

As for the lies she is referring to the legal troubles she is facing after three of her former dancers sued her for allegedly creating an “abusive work environment” and weight-shaming them. 

At that time she shared a statement addressing these allegations. 

“These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,” Lizzo wrote said in an Aug. 3 Instagram message. “My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized.”

The ‘About Damn Time’ singer went on saying that the accusations are “sensationalized stories,” adding in part, “Sometimes I have to make hard decisions but it’s never my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable or like they aren’t valued as an important part of the team.”
