Maisie Williams, who famously portrayed Arya Stark on HBO’s popular fantasy series Game of Thrones, opened up about her thoughts on the show’s ending. Williams was only 12 years old during the starting of the series. Moreover, it seems like the actress isn’t happy with the show’s ending, like millions of GOT fans.
Maisie Williams ‘fell off’ at the end of GOT
Williams who famously portrayed Arya Stark on the eight seasons of the HBO fantasy drama from 2011 to 2019. Arya is one of the popular characters of the show because of the strong persona. During the recent twitter stream with her brother James Williams she opens up about her thoughts. The actress has recently re-watch the show all over again.
“I re-watched it all recently,” Maisie told her brother.
In response her brother was surprised, and asked, “What did you think?”
The actress said while laughing, “It definitely fell off at the end, but it started really strong.”
However, the 25-year-old did not like the ending but she praises the strong inception of the series. She said she was ‘heartbroken’ when her onscreen father Eddard Stark (Sean Bean) died. “I knew it was coming!”- she said.
Eddard Stark aka Ned was beheaded by evil King Joffrey Baratheon at the end of season one.
Maisie revealed she has a strained relationship with her character Arya
This isn’t the first time Willams talked about her character. Arya is her first ever acting role. In April of this year in an interview with GQ UK she talked about her character. “I think that when I started becoming a woman,I resented Arya because I couldn’t express who I was becoming.” Arya Stark from a daughter of an honorable lord becomes an assassinator.
Later on, she was asked what she missed about her character. To which hilariously she responded,”Can I say none of it?,I don’t think it’s healthy to miss it, because I loved it. I look at it so fondly, and I look at it with such pride. But why would I want to make myself feel sad about the greatest thing that ever happened to me? I don’t want to associate that with feelings of pain.”
