Matthew Perry, famously known for playing Chandler Being in Friends credits co-star Jenifer Aniston for helping in his hard time battling with addiction. The Friends actors always shared a good relationship which we can tell from their 2021 Friends Reunion. On October 28, in the trailer of the exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer. Jenifer Aniston confronted Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry said in his interview with Diane Sawyer that Jenifer Aniston confronted her for her substance abuse. Moreover, he revealed that Aniston’s support is a very important part of his journey. According to Perry’s Jenny’ which he called, Aniston said,” we know you’re drinking”.
He went on saying – “I had long since gotten over her — ever since she started dating Brad Pitt, I was fine — and had worked out exactly how long to look at her without it being awkward, but still, to be confronted by Jennifer Aniston was devastating. And I was confused.”
“She was the one that reached out the most, I’m really grateful to her for that.” the 53-year-old tells Sawyer.
As per Perry, his drug use controlled him at the peak of his career, “At the time I should have been the toast of the town. I was in a dark room meeting nothing but drug dealers and completely alone.”
Later on, he also shared his near-death experience as he was in a coma, which he also talked about in his memoir Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing which will be available in October. 28.
Perry explained the reason behind being candid about this issue. He said, “It was important to me to do something that would help people.”The one-hour special Matthew Perry—The Diane Sawyer Interview, will premiere on the 28th of October at 8 pm onwards on ABC.
