Miley Cyrus just achieved a new milestone. On Sunday, Aug. 11, the ‘Flowers’ singer made history as named the youngest Disney Legend of all time. The honor is specifically bestowed to the people to bring fame and influence to the company. At the D23 event in Anaheim, California, the Hannah Montana fame star started tearing up while accepting the honor. Needless to say, it’s a full circle of life for the songstress as she started her career as the child actor in the popular Disney teen show Hannah Montana, after which there is no looking back for her. Miley Cyrus said she is proud to have been Hannah Montana
The Grammy winner started her speech by revealing how she has written two speeches: one where she wants to show her badass aura and the other one shot speech if gets scared.
Before starting recounting her Hannah Montana days Miley joked that she wasn’t created in a lab as a Disney kid.
Therefore, she details the casting process how she wasn’t the first choice for the iconic role, and also some adorable behind-the-scenes moments. Cyrus later added, “I had gotten a taste of what my life could be, and from that moment on, I did not want anything else.”
The 31-year-old continues, “A little bit of everything has changed, … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all. I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”
Moreover, she shared her gratitude, noting, “In so many ways, his award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.’ “
Earlier at the ceremony, The Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger praised the singer in a press release.
Iger shared, “To be named a Disney Legend is the highest honor our company can bestow on anyone, reserved for those whose talent and achievement have earned them an enduring place in our history. The fourteen individuals to be honored as Disney Legends this year have each made extraordinary creative contributions across the worlds of Disney and we look forward to celebrating them at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.”
Apart from Miley, John Williams, Angela Bassett, Kelly Ripa, Colleen Atwood, Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Frank Oz, and Joe Rohde were also among the honorees.
