The Hindi trailer of Mufasa: The Lion King is finally out. The much-awaited live-action which is the prequel of Disney’s blockbuster venture has created immense excitement among fans. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who previously gave the voiceover to Mufasa in 2019’s Hindi live-action version of The Lion King is back to take his throne. This time he is joined by his two sons AbRam,11, and Aryan, 26.
Aryan, the eldest son of the actor, has gained immense fame as Simba in the first installment, therefore it’ll be incredible to see how he pulls off the voice of young Mufasa along with his little brother AbRam. Let’s delve into the important details of this segment.
Shah Rukh Khan on playing Mufasa
In an earlier interview, the 58-year-old superstar shared his excitement of giving voice to the iconic character. The actor said, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy and stands as the ultimate king of the jungle, imparting his wisdom to his son, Simba.”
The actor also continues how relates to the character of the legendary King. “I deeply relate to him as a father and also resonate with Mufasa’s journey in the film. Mufasa: The Lion King depicts Mufasa’s life from childhood to his rise as an incredible king and revisiting this character has been exceptional,” Khan explained.
As for his special collaboration with his sons, the proud father gushes, “It’s a special collaboration for me with Disney, particularly because my sons, Aryan and AbRam, are part of this journey and sharing this experience with them is truly meaningful.”
Head of Studios at Disney Star, Bikram Duggal also shared a statement on the Hindi version of the iconic prequel.
He said, “The ferocious Mufasa is more than just a fictional character, he embodies a spirit that continues to inspire generations, a quality Disney strives to bring with every story. When Mufasa: The Lion King was announced, we could not envision anyone other than Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan returning to our family as Mufasa and Simba. Now, with AbRam joining the cast, this movie has become even more special to us. Our endeavour here is for millions of Indian audiences to enjoy this incredible story with their families.”
The original cast of Mufasa: The Lion King
As for the original star cast, it includes Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Billy Eichner, John Kani, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and Thandiwe Newton.
The movie explores the tale of an orphaned cub called Mufasa and his friendship with a generous lion named Taka, later known as scar who is the heir to the royal bloodline and loves the orphan Mufasa as his brother. As the story progresses we’ll get to know how an orphan became the greatest lion king of the era.
Mufasa: The Lion King, will hit the theatres of India from December 20.
