Netflix is finally spelling the bee on Henry Cavill’s exit from the famous show The Witcher. In October of this year, the actor announced the shocking news to his fans that he is no longer playing Geralt in the next season. Australian actor Liam Hemsworth replaced him in the character in season four. Finally, after months Netflix revealed the reason behind his exit.

On December 14, Netflix’s head of U.S. and Canada scripted series Peter Friedlander revealed the reason for talking with Variety magazine.
Friedlander said, “There has been a legacy of amazing, iconic characters where the actors have changed and we’re hugely optimistic about this. We will continue to honor the IP, the fans, the storytelling, all the way through.”
He praised Cavill’s performance while seeming very optimistic about the future of the character. “Henry is an extraordinary Geralt and I think Liam will continue and also be an extraordinary Geralt.”- He said.
On October 29, the Justice League alum shared a post about the end of his journey in the show. On Instagram, he wrote, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4.”
He also seems to be looking forward to the fourth season of the famous series although he is no longer part of it. He wrote on Instagram, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for season four. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”
The actor is also announced to be backing off from his iconic role as Superman.
