Good news for ‘Big Little Lies’ fans. Actress Nicole Kidman revealed that season three might not be just a dream. In a recent premiere of her new drama series, Expats, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Sunday, Kidman talked about the future of this iconic series. The actress who played the role of Celeste Wright in the popular series is also an executive producer. Needless to say, it’s a pretty incredible moment for the fans. Kidman told Entertainment Tonight, “We are always cooking things up!”
The Australian native also added, “We’ve got a timeline for it now.” The actress also said after “letting things find their way,” she believes that “the time is now” for the comeback of the most anticipated third season.
Moreover, she added of the filmmaker and director of the original series Jean-Marc Vallée who passed away in 2015, “We are obviously all devastated at the loss of Jean-Marc Vallée, That made us go, ‘Can we move forward?’ But Reese [Witherspoon] and I, and all of the other women, have decided, yes we can.”
The show which ran for two seasons starred many renowned names apart from Kidman and Witherspoon including, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Alexander Skarsgård, Kathryn Newton, and Meryl Streep. On top of that, the show which is based on a group of women and their tumultuous families who are entangled in a murder case also received eight Emmys.
Meanwhile, talking about her Prime Video series Expats, which is based on and written by Janice Y. K. Lee the 56-year-old shares, “I read the book, my sister gave it to me to read, and I knew it would make an amazing film. But it was so dense I thought a mini-series [would work better]. And it was the right cast.”
The actress continues, “I’ve obviously done so many rolls in my life, but this is so different. It takes place over six hours. So many layers. And then episode five, you [see] through the lens of the domestic workers. We get to introduce these actors to this large audience. There are six languages in this show! I’m so proud of [it].”
