Amazon Prime Video’s popular series Paatal Lok’s season two is all set to rock your small screen. The police procedural which is metaphorically based on the concept of heaven and hell has gained immense parise and recognition from fans as well as from the critics.In the compilation video shared by Prime Video, we get a glimpse of Inspector Hathiram played by Jaideep Ahlawat and Ansari played by Ishwak Singh as they are going through life and work. In the video Jaideep Ahlawat says, “Mai Paatal Lok ka permanent nivasi hoon (I am a permanent resident of Paatal Lok).” Meanwhile, the OTT platform shared a still from the show and wrote, “Two seemingly disconnected cases get Hathiram and Ansari to work together again, sending them down the track of a nebulous conspiracy.”
The first season of this series began streaming on Prime Video in 2020, alongwith Jaideep Ahlawat and Ishwak Singh actors Abhishek Banerjee, Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag, Jagjeet Sandhu, Swastika Mukherjee and, Vipin Sharma also starred in the series.
Directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware and produced by Karnesh Ssharma the second season features Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishwak Singh, Tillotama Shome, Jahnu Barua, Gul Panag, Nagesh Kukunoor, Anurag Arora.
Paatal Lok Cast’s response
While announcing season 2, Manoj told Jaidee, “Jaideep, there is a similarity between (my) Srikant and (your) Haathi Ram. You are the maharathi (ace warriror) of your lok (world), and I am the maharathi of my agency, but I lie a lot, whereas your character doesn’t lie, he is very straight forward.”
Meanwhile, he then asked, “What do you think, can these two (characters) come together?”
He also added, “Do you think Srikant and Hathiram can come together? I am just trying to get an extra cheque (from Amazon) (chuckles).”
Jaideep responded to Manoj’s query by saying, “I think if that happens my cheque will get bigger. Aparna (Purohit, head of Originals at Amazon Prime Video) is standing here only, let’s ask her…” to which Aparna quipped, “It is impossible to get any secret out of me.”
He continues, “If that happens, it would be big, it will be killer!” Manoj said of Jaideep’s response, “If Srikant and Hathiram come together, then kamaal ho jaayega. I have been trying for years.”
After hearing this director Avinash Arun said, “I am a very big fan of this director. I have been struggling for many years. It is in my DNA. So, I keep struggling, keep hustling. I keep asking for roles from the directors I want to work with. I asked (him) for a role when we met at Prithvi (theatre). I asked for a role when we met in Andheri somewhere. I asked for a role even on the pavements of New York, in the middle of the road. But all he had to say is, ‘Dekhta hoon sir, baat karta hoon sir.’ Give me a confirmed response some time!”
