Amazon Prime’s popular series ‘Panchayat’s release date is finally out now. Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa will be seen reprising their roles in season three, which is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar. The new chapter of the show is created by The Viral Fever (TVF) and will also premiere in multiple languages including Hindi, with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, as per the press release statement of the streamer. ‘Panchayat’s third season will be released on May 28
Streaming service Prime Video officially announced on Thursday, May 7th that the series will appear on our small screen on May 28.
The story of the series revolves around Abhishek Tripathi played by actor Jitendra Kumar who is an engineering graduate due to the lack of a better job option he joins the position of a secretary of a panchayat office in a remote village named Phulera in Uttar Pradesh.
The eight-episode series’s first season premiered in April 2020 and also became an instant hit on Prime Video and garnered immense positive responses from the audience leading to a second season that came out in May 2022.
Manish Menghani who is director and content licensing, at Prime Video India, said in a statement about the series, “‘Panchayat’ is one of the most loved Indian Amazon Originals, resonating not only with audiences in India but also across the globe. The love for this heartwarming comedy lies in its simplistic narrative that’s rooted in the slow-paced village life and is tightly woven through its satirical treatment of the daily issues faced by the residents of Phulera. The third season delivers all that and more.”
Previously in an interview with Indian Times, the protagonist of the series Jitendra Kumar also shared what we can expect from the upcoming series, “There’s going to be a lot of excitement in Phulera. The characters’ journeys have evolved significantly, promising plenty of twists and turns in Abhishek’s life.”
Apart from Jitendra, popular actors like Neena Gupta play Manju Devi, Chandan Roy plays Vikas, Faisal Malik plays Prahlad, and Sanvikaa plays Rinki in the Amazon Prime series.
For now, fans have to brace themselves for a little longer to finally see the magic on screen.
