Pankaj Tripathi’s award-winning international film, Mango Dreams is finally releasing in India. Featuring Sameer Kochhar and Ram Gopal Bajaj alongwith the National award winner this film will hit the Indian theatres on May 16. The film, which is helmed by American director John Upchurch, features Tripathi as Muslim auto rickshaw driver who forms an unlikely bond a Hindu doctor while together they embark on a journey in search of the doctor’s childhood home across India. The star cast also includes actors like Samir Kochhar, Rohini Hattangadi, SM Zaheer, and Farah Ahsan. Let’s delve into the complete details of this story.

Mango Dreams is releasing on May 16

While the film is all set to hit the independent Indian platform, Upchurch says, “The story explores the relationship between two brothers – India and Pakistan – separated at birth. The tense Indo-Pakistani relations serve as a metaphor for the conflicts plaguing many parts of the world. However, Mango Dreams offers a glimmer of hope for reconciliation. Although the movie is set in India, the story is universal. The original story was set in America, but the film could be set anywhere in the world where divisions exist.”

In “Mango Dreams” also helped him earn immense recognition including Best Actor Award at the Cape Town International Film Market and Festival in 2017. The film has also garnered shout out at the prestigious Arizona International Film Festival 2016, London Asian Film Festival 2017, and Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2017. Apart from this the film has also garnered more awards at numerous international film festivals worldwide.

Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in Murder Mubarak featuring a star-studded cast including Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Karishma Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Suhail Nayyar and Kunal Khemu among others. 

The film which is helmed  by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan  premiered on March 15 on the streaming platform Netflix. For now he is all set to reprise his role as Kaleen bhaiya in the upcoming much anticipated Mirzapur 3. The story revolves around Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen bhaiya, millionaire carpet exporter and the mafia don of Mirzapur and his despicable son Munna who crossed paths with Ramakant Pandit, an upstanding lawyer, and his sons, Guddu and Bablu leading to create some spine-chilling and unpredictable outcome.
