Prince William reflected on Kate aka Catherine Middleton’s health update during his recent visit with veterans during the 80th anniversary of the D-Day event on Wednesday, June 5. Although the Princess of Wales wasn’t able to join her husband for the event she has been in the thoughts of the people during the entire time. Middleton is currently taking treatment for an unnamed cancer which she announced last March. Prince William joined his father, King Charles III, and stepmother Queen Camilla. In a video, posted on X (formally Twitter), the Prince was spotted giving an update on his wife’s health. Let’s find out what he said.
Prince William said his wife Kate would have loved to join him
In the video, a veteran sitting in a wheelchair asks the Prince if his wife “is getting any better.” To which he swiftly responded, “Yes, she’d love to be here today.”
The 41-year-old also added, “I was reminding everyone her grandmother served at Bletchley Park. So she had quite a few in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley.”
In March of this year, Kate publicly announced her cancer diagnosis and revealed that she would be stepping away from royal duties and public life to focus on her treatment.
The Princess said of her disease in the video, “This of course came as a huge shock. And William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louie in a way that’s appropriate for them and to reassure them that I’m going to be okay. As I said to them, I am well, and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal. In my mind, body and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort.”
For now, the 42-year-old is going through preventive chemotherapy. However, the stage or type of her cancer hasn’t been unveiled. Therefore, there is no chance of her coming back to public life until her full recovery.
