Priscilla said she knew there was something not right
The 78-year-old told the outlet, “I did know there was something not right.”
The actress recalled the last time she was with her daughter celebrating Austin Butler’s Golden Globes win for his role as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis film in Los Angeles.
The grieving mother said, “We had just gotten there, you go down all these stairs. I tripped a little bit because I had these high heels on, and she started laughing so hard. I started laughing. We hadn’t even had a drink yet. She goes, ‘Oh my God, Mom, you can’t even have a drink.’ It was fun, a fun memory. Then we sat down and ordered drinks, and she says, ‘Mom, my stomach hurts really bad.’ We immediately got up and left.”
Later on, she recalled that she got a call from Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Dany Keough that her daughter had been hospitalized. Unfortunately, she didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to her only child.
“I got right in the car, but she was already gone,” she says. “I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother.”
Needless to say, it’s a lifelong pain for the mother. Lisa Marie Presley died at the age of 54 on January 12 of this year. As per the reports of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, the cause of death was sequelae of small bowel obstruction.
