During the premiere of her new film Emilia Perez at the French American Film Festival in Los Angeles on Oct. 29, the songstress addressed the comments on her appearance. Selena Gomez said she doesn’t look like a sick figure
Selena wrote in the comments underneath the now-deleted video, “This makes me sick. I have SEBO in my small intestine. It flares up. I don’t care that I don’t look like a sick figure. I don’t have that body. End of story. No I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.”
If you’re wondering about the condition, SEBO is defined by the Mayo Clinic as a “Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when there is an abnormal increase in the overall bacterial population in the small intestine—particularly types of bacteria not commonly found in that part of the digestive tract.”
The Only Murders in the Building star is no stranger to showcasing her not glamorous part as Selena shared a picture of blemishes on her skin writing on Oct. 22, “Even my skin is over me.”
The songstress has previously been candid about her lupus diagnosis for which she even had a kidney transplant in 2017.
On October 3, during an interview with Fast Company, the 32-year-old said, “None of the sample sizes were fitting, and that would make me feel embarrassed. Although how unrealistic is it to expect a normal woman’s body not to change?”
The singer added, “I had just gotten my heart broken. I didn’t need to see what everyone was doing. Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. ‘Wow, I wish my body looked like that.’”
