Selena Gomez is still calming down when it comes to achieving milestones in her career. In a recent interview with E! News at her Rare Impact Fund Benefit on October 24 the songstress revealed she thinks she hasn’t achieved much when it comes to creating an awareness and impact on mental health through her Rare Impact Fund foundation. The ‘Wolf’ singer herself has always been quite vocal about the mental health struggles she has been through. Therefore, it isn’t surprising that she wants to help out the people who are struggling.
Selena Gomez said her dream is to have places where people who are thinking bad thoughts
The 32-year-old said of her dreams regarding the foundation, “My dream is to have places where people who are thinking bad thoughts—I want them to go to a place and have the resources. So, I have big goals, big dreams and I’m just starting, and it feels like a good start.”
Needless to say, the singer is no stranger to mental health struggles as she has always been open about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and Lupus.
As per the definition of Mayo Clinic Lupus occurs “when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease). Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.”
“Sometimes,” she to the entertainment media house, “you just need someone to tell you, ‘I feel you’ or ‘Me too.’”
The Grammy nominations also explained that this awareness can help people “actually connect and hopefully create something beautiful out of that.”
The Only Murders in the Building star also shared a crucial message for anyone going through a challenging period in their life.
She continued, “I’ve learned so much about the complexities of being a woman from my mental health to physically being OK, and also just wanting to make sure that all around I feel healthy. And I just want people to know that everything isn’t a highlight reel. Life is very complex and different.”
For now, Selena is in quite a happy place with her boyfriend Benny Blanco with whom she’s been in a relationship since late 2023.
