The trailer of the much-anticipated detective drama Shekhar Home is finally out now. The series which will start streaming on JioCinema on August 14 has released its trailer on August 1. Menon’s role in the series is inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic character Sherlock Holmes. Shekhar Home will start streaming on 14 August
The shows delve into the life of Shekhar Home a common-looking young man who is a sharp-minded private investigator. Shekhar goes on the path of adventure with his partner Ranvir Shorey who is seemingly inspired by the role of Dr. Watson who is the assistant of detective Sherlock Holmes.
Set in the early 1990s the story revolves around the fictional town of Lonpur in Bengal where the genius investigators Shekhar Home portrayed by Kay Kay Menon take on the path of adventure with a middle-aged bachelor Jayvrat Sahni, played by talented Ranvir Shorey. Apart from spine-chilling thrill the series also explores the themes of love, friendship betrayal.
Produced by BBC Studios Productions India Rohan Sippy and Srijit Mukherjee will helm this 6-episode long series.
The official synopsis of the series noted,” ‘Shekhar Home’ is an original work of fiction, inspired by literary works of the noted British writer Arthur Conan Doyle, which are in the public domain, the makers said in a press note.”

Kay Kay Menon on playing Indian Sherlock Holmes
Previously in an interview, the incredibly talented actor who impressed the audience multiple times with his roles in Black Friday’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Haider’, and ‘Special OPS’, shared his excitement for playing such a marvelous role.
The 57-year-old actor said of his role, “Shekhar’s character took me back to the good old days. I re-lived the memories of the time when social media was not even a thing. After reading the script and analysing this role, I was drawn to the complexity of unravelling mysteries.”
“The series isn’t just about solving crimes-it’s also about exploring human nature in all its aspects- from love and loyalty to betrayal and deceit. Playing Shekhar was a pure delight. I’m excited to bring Shekhar to all of you,” he continues.
