Shraddha Kapoor is once again ready to take away our breath with her new authentic avatar. The actress who has been talking of the town after the groundbreaking success of Stree 2 is ready to turn into a Naagin. As per producer Nikhil Dwivedi in this iconic folklore, Shraddha will portray this legendary character. To our surprise, the film is already in progress. During an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Nikhil shared some interesting updates about his highly awaited film and revealed where the project stands now.
Here are the complete details about the producer’s interview.
Nikhil Dwivedi revealed the od script of Shraddha Kapoor’s Naagin is ready
Giving the updates on the upcoming project Dwivedi said, “Finally, the script is ready now. It has taken us three years to script it. We have redone the entire script three times, and now I can say that it’s finally ready.”
Later on, he explained the reason for choosing to make this movie.
He revealed, “Firstly, it’s a completely brand-new subject. It has no connection with previous films. The reason for me making this film is that Indian folklore is actually very rich in ideas. We get very excited when a spider bites a man, and he becomes Spider-Man. But we kind of look down upon a woman turning into a snake. Give us a chance, and we’ll turn it on its head, and you will see quite a supernatural and different film.”
The subject of this project is quite popular in the Indian film industry as previously numerous successful projects were made on it such as Sridevi’s iconic 1986 movie Nagina.
Therefore it’s quite relevant that this role should go to some powerful actress. As for choosing Shraddha in this iconic character Nikhil shared an interesting reason.
“It was decided from the beginning that only Shraddha Kapoor would play Naagin. We’re thrilled that she’s on board. She has an ethereal quality about her,” Dwivedi explained.
He continues, “She was excited. She was the first one to come on board. I approached her first with the idea, and she was sold. She can’t wait to start the shoot, now that the script is ready. We are just figuring out how to take it on floors as soon as possible. It will most likely go on floors next year.”
The details about Naagin, the release date of the movie is yet to be unveiled.
