Stranger Things Star Maya Hawke revealed the reason season five of the much-anticipated series is taking so long. During the June 27 episode of Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast the actress who is the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman shared the long length of the episodes, making the filming process more timely. Maya Hawke said that the episodes of the series are very long
The 25-year-old said on the podcast, “We’re making, basically, eight movies. The episodes are very long.”
Moreover, the Do Revenge star also revealed that show creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are trying their best to put an end to the three-year wait between the fourth and fifth installment.
“Our showrunners, Matt and Ross, take a lot of responsibility,” the actress continued. “They have an amazing team of writers, but they’re very involved.”
She also praised the Duffer Brothers for the show “very intense and serious” and noted of the writing quality,”It takes a long time to write each season, and it takes a long time to shoot them.”
As for what will be the fate of her character Robin Buckley Maya confessed in an earlier interview that she’d “love to die and get my hero’s moment.”
In a September 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, she noted, “I’d love to die with honor as any actor would.”
In case of getting that arc or not, Maya noted she has complete faith in Duffers’ vision.
“I love the way that the Duffer Brothers love their actors,” the actress shared. “The reason that they write so beautifully for me and for everyone else is because they fall in love with their actors and their characters, and they don’t want to kill them.”
Moreover, she added, “I think that’s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn’t wish it away.”
