Superstar singer Shakira confessed about her encounter with a pair of wild boars while walking in a park in Barcelona along with her son.
She said the animals attacked her, before grasping her bag and disappearing with it into the woods. Moreover, she shared her strange encounter in a series of Instagram stories on Wednesday.
In her Instagram stories, Shakira was seen holding up her torn bag and said: “Look at how two wild boar which attacked me in the park have left my bag.”
“They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it,” the singer continued. “They’ve destroyed everything.”
And then she turned to her son and said: “Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar.”
In recent years Shakira has become the latest victim of the increasingly hostile hogs which have invaded the Catalan capital.
In 2016, Spanish police received 1,187 phone calls about wild hogs attacking dogs, preying cat-feeders, holding up traffic and running into cars in the city.
Furthermore, in 2013 one police officer tried to take charge of the problem himself and shot at a boar with his service revolver. He missed the shot and hit his partner instead.
Boars are listed among the world’s most invasive species and can survive in almost any environment. They also carry a wide variety of diseases.
But gradually the animals are drawn to cities, where they live off rubbish discarded by humans.
Recently their numbers have increased across Europe, with the latest estimates now surpassing around 10 million across the continent.
Since they have become more aggressive and nuisance many cities have employed numerous strategies to discard their numbers. Also, in Berlin urban hunters have killed thousands of animals but the problem continues.
Last year police officers in Rome flashed horror after they shot a family of wild boars that had strolled into a children’s playground with tranquiliser darts and gave them lethal injections.
