SZA is a normal fan girl when it comes to Beyoncé. In a recent interview with E! News’ the “Snooze” singer revealed the reason she avoided talking with Queen Bey at the 2024 Grammys. The event took place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 4. Let’s find out the reason she did this.
SZA said she was scared to go over to Beyoncé
The 34-year-old said of the Halo singer, “I was scared to go over to Beyoncé. I can’t speak unless she wants to speak in my brain, because I don’t want to bother her. She looked so peaceful and beautiful.”
Moreover, she was so starstruck by the singer that she couldn’t talk to her. As she said, “I just admire her. She’s a masterclass on poise, grace, artistry, beauty and kindness.”
However, she does talk to a member of her family. “Jay-Z did speak to me,” SZA recalled. “I was so grateful. Those are literally my favorite people, and it’s so crazy that I be seeing them in real life.”
The R&B star also shared that the”Empire State of Mind” rapper is her “all-time favorite.” The rapper also took home the Dre. Dre Global Impact Award at the event.
“Jay-Z means the world to me,” the singer gushed. “I’m a Jay-Z stan so bad.”
The singer couple was accompanied by their daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Talking about the awards, SZA also bagged three awards which was the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her Phoebe Bridgers collaboration “Ghosts in the Machine”,Best R&B Song for “Snooze”, Best Urban Contemporary Album for SOS.
However, for now the singer has accompanied Mastercard for the Priceless Planet Coalition, which aims to restore 100 million trees across the globe.
“I’m trying to dive more into my efforts of how I can help in the world,” the Kill Bill singer explained. “I just want to branch out and see what kind of woman I really want to be.”
She continues, “I feel so blessed and I feel like there’s so much that needs to be done, and I have the energy for it.”
Needless to say, this year’s Grammy has been a memorable one for the singer.
