Ranked among the top five female Indie artists by Spotify in 2021 this self-taught flok maestro has achieved immense appreciation in such a short span of time.

Apart from singing the multi-talented vocalist is also blessed with other skills as well. She can play an ample of musical instruments like guitar and the ukulele. Showcasing her heartfelt vocals in her songs like ‘Kya Tum Naraaz Ho?’ (2021), ‘Kahaani’ (2022), and ‘Izhaar’ (2023) this multi-talented lady has a lot to offer to her fans. Here are some interesting facts about her life and journey.

Life and Journey of Tanmaya Bhatnagar

Bhatnagar has come to the house of a musician as a mother who inspires her to pursue music also a talented musician. The most impressive fact is that she didn’t have any professional training. Growing up watching her mother play different instruments shifted her interest in music. From a young age, she wrote a lot of poetry which she branched out into songwriting as an adult.

Her all hard work paid off in 2021 after she released her first single Quietly. However, her success rose in the same year after she delivered the soulful track ‘Kya Tum Naraaz Ho’.

After listening to her songs you can feel some powerful emotions stitched together with inspiring lyrics and soothing tempo.

The singer, despite not having musical training, is a great admirer of Elliot Smith, Justin Vernon, Billie Marten, Jackson Frank, Lucy Rose, and more recently Mac Miller. Undoubtedly her journey wasn’t very easy since in a country like India where the craze for playback singers is much higher it’s quite difficult for a solo artist to stand out. Although the scenes are shifting gradually, there is still a lot of change.

The singer previously said in an interview about the secret of surviving in the competitive industry, “To get your voice heard, it gets tough sometimes… but you have to keep reminding yourself that you’re in it purely for the music. It is not about popularity or anything superficial.”

Apart from the music career the singer has done some impressive philanthropic activities to make changes in the life of the underprivileged. With her famous #ihearyou Project, she has raised her hand to help people who struggle with schizophrenia.

Needless to say, this talented young woman along with her magic voice also possesses a golden heart.
