Taylor Lautner recalled the 2009 most awkward VMA moment between ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift and Kanye West. The Twilight Saga actor was present at the moment when Taylor received the award for song “You Belong With Me’. But her moment become totally ruined when Kanye west jumped on stage in the middle of her acceptance speech and said Beyonce has the best album of all time who is her fellow nominee. On February 1, on his podcast, The Squeeze the actor recalled the moment.
Taylor Lautner Said Kanye West’s action just didn’t make sense
On February 1, on his podcast, The Squeeze Lautner’s wife Tay Dome asked about the moment in his life he would choose to go back to if he could. He said, “Probably the 2009 VMAs. when I presented the award to Taylor and was unaware that the Kanye [West] thing was not a skit.”
He continues, “I presented the award to her, so I have the award. I took five steps back and was standing five feet behind her. And in the middle of her giving her thank you speech, Kanye jumps up onto the stage.”
The 30-year-old then explained, “I can barely hear it. I can’t see them. I’m just assuming this whole thing was a practiced and rehearsed skit, because why else would Kanye West be jumping on the stage interrupting Taylor Swift? It just didn’t make sense.”
Although, Lautner thought the whole situation is pre-planned until he saw Swift’s expression. He said, “He jumped off. She finished. The second she turned back around and I saw her face for the first time, I was like, ‘Oh. No. That wasn’t good.'”
Swifted also wrote “Back To December ” about her romance with Lautner. A line of the song a night in September seemingly refers to the Sept. 13 of the VMA. The line follows, “I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile/So good to me, so right/And how you held me in your arms that September night/The first time you ever saw me cry.”
However, both of them has moved on in their life Lautner is happily married to Tay Dome, while Swift is in a relationship with Joe Alwyn since 2016.
