Taylor Swift seems to be claiming down the charges against her. The Grammy winner was accused of plagiarising 3LW’s “Playas Gon’ Play”. The song makers filed the lawsuit back in 2017. However, Swift clearly said she didn’t hear about it and “The first time I ever heard the song was after this claim was made.” It’s great news for the swifties.

The plagiarism charges against Taylor Swift were dropped weeks before the beginning of the trail

On December 12, Swift’s attorney Sean Hall and the accuser singer’s attorney Nathan Butler filed a stipulation at the California court. They jointly asked the court to “dismissing this action in its entirety.”

On the same day, U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald ordered to officially dismiss the lawsuit. The court documents state to withdraw the charges entirely and with prejudice of both parties bearing their respective attorney’s fees and court costs.

Before this incident, the trial was scheduled to take off in January 2023. The lawsuit was officially made in 2017 against Swift. The 33-year-old singer, later on, denied the allegations. “Until learning about the Plaintiffs’ claim in 2017, I had never heard the song ‘Playas Gon’ Play’ and had never heard of that song or the group 3LW. The first time I ever heard the song was after this claim was made.”-she said.

The alleged plagiarised song was composed by Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams, and Naturi Naughton. The lines ‘Haters gonna hate, Players gonna play” were allegedly plagiarised by Swift. However, the ‘Anti-Hero’ defended herself saying that the “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” are universal phrases.

This song is one of the massive hits of the singer. It even ranked number one on the Billboard Hot One Hundreds.

The singer is currently breaking a lot of records again with her new album ‘Midnight.’
