Taylor Swift is making the music industry shimmer. On February 4, the “Karma” singer created history with the most Grammys records for most-ever Album of the Year wins by a single artist. Midnights is nominated alongside SZA’s SOS, Miley Cyrus’ Endless Summer Vacation, Lana Del Rey’s Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd., Jon Batiste’s World Music Radio, Boygenius’s The Record, Janelle Monáe’s The Age of Pleasure and Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS. She became the artist to earn this honour. Let’s check out her enchanted reaction.
Taylor Swift said it’s the best moment of my life
The 34-year-old gushed while accepting the award, “I would love to tell you this is the best moment of my life, But I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love or when I’m shot-listing a music video or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show.”
She added, “For me, the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy. It makes me unbelievably blown away that it makes some people happy who voted for this award. All I want to do is keep doing this.”
Prior to this, Swift bagged the Album of the Year for 2008’s Fearless, 2014’s 1989 and 2020’s Folklore.
The “Anti-Hero” singer now has 14 Grammy wins and 47 nominations. Earlier that night she also surprised fans with the announcement of her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department, which is coming on April 19.
“This is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number, I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that. So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.”
Afterwards, the songstress released the cover of the upcoming album with a carousel featuring a black-and-white image of Taylor cradling herself in bed and a handwritten note that seemingly revealed upcoming lyrics. The post is captioned, “All’s fair in love and poetry.”
Meanwhile, the note reads, “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms, The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink.”
Needless to say, Swiftlies are over the moon right now.
