Taylor Swift gave her heartfelt support to BFF Selena Gomez for her new song “Single Soon.” On August 26, the Grammy-winning singer showed her support for Gomez on her Instagram Stories by sharing the video. Swift has been in a lot of limelight recently after her break-up from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn and ending romance with 1975 singer Matty Healy. Let’s dig into the details.
Taylor Swift wrote her bestie is the bestest
The 33-year-old wrote in her story while sharing the video of ‘Single Soon’, “When ur bestie is the bestest,”
The singer who is currently busy with her much-awaited ‘Eras Tour’ also added, “Will be dancing to this forever methinks.”
A few hours later Gomez responded to Swift’s sweet response in her Instagram story.
Moreover, the 31-year-old on the same day shared her gratitude towards the fans for showing love to the single. She wrote, “Thank you guys for all the love on Single Soon!!! It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to!”
“Single Soon” dropped on Aug. 25 and within a few hours of its release, her fans started showering the video with so much love.
The music video started with Selena’s half-sister Gracie Teefey voicemail saying, “Hi! I love you, sissy. Never worry about boyfriends at all.”
Later on, it was speculated that the single was about her ex The Weeknd. However, on August 28, the Grammy nominee rejected the claim by simply writing under an Instagram post, “couldn’t be more false.”
Moreover, the singer also reacted to the (AI) re-imagining of herself singing her ex’s 2016 song “Starboy,” writing under a post, “Scary.”
The song’s lyrics say, “Should I do it on the phone? / Should I leave a little note in the pocket of his coat? (Yeah) / Maybe I’ll just disappear / I don’t wanna see a tear / And the weekend’s almost here.”
