Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) CEO Elon Musk wrote on Sunday that the EV dialer will resume bitcoin transactions when miners check whether transactions use more renewable energy.
“When there’s confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with the positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing Bitcoin transactions,” Elon Musk Tweeted,
At 6:10 pm GMT on Sunday (2:10 pm Eastern Time), Bitcoin rose 5.1% to US$37,360.63, eventually rising by US$1,817.87. Before, according to Musk’s tweet.
Musk also said that Tesla sold about 10% of its assets to confirm that Bitcoin can be easily liquidated without affecting the market.
In May of this year, the company announced that Tesla will no longer accept Bitcoin for car purchases, citing long-standing environmental concerns caused by the company’s rapid change in its stance on cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin has fallen by more than 10 on Twitter.
