Ayushmann Khurrana is officially a part of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe with the help of their upcoming movie Thama. On October 30, the makers took their official social media handle to announce the upcoming venture. The film will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar who also helmed the universe’s other blockbuster films Munjya and Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara have penned the story of the movie. Along with Khurrana actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also be seen in pivotal roles. The details to know about Thama
Thama is the new addition in Maddock’s universe after Stree, Stree 2, Munjya and the Bhediya franchise which has proven to be a blockbuster in box-office.
The story is set around a Vampire played by Ayushmann. However, much details about this venture has been kept under the wraps. The video of the first look shows Ayushmann’s name written in blood with the background sound of the screeching of bats.
The Andhadhun actor even teased his fans about this upcoming movie in his Instagram via a vampire avatar a day before the official announcement. In the snap, he used a vampire filter, with red eyes and blood dripping from his mouth.
In case you’ve watched Stree 2, in this blockbuster movie’s climax Varun Dhawan’s character Bhaskar aka the Bhediya was seen talking about the outbreak of blood-drinking human beings to his cousin Jana/JD played by Abhishek Banerjee.
As per the reports by Pinkvilla, the upcoming movie might be in two different time periods – the present north Indian city and the Vijayanagara Empire.
On top of that, Nawaz will be seen as the main antagonist who is a violent individual from centuries ago looking to take vengeance in the present. Meanwhile, Rashmika will feature as the love interest of Ayushmann.
The announcement has created an immense craze among the Maddock universe’s fans. Therefore, it could be a great opportunity for Khurrana to deliver a clean box-office hit which he has been looking for over a long period of time.
Thama, an adorable love story with a horror-comedy touch is set to release to the theatres in the Diwali of 2025.
