For Nick Jonas, his life always comes first. On October 15, the Jonas Brothers member who is performing alongside his brothers aka bandmates Joe and Kevin at the O2 Arena in Prague surprisingly ran off the stage in the middle of the concert. While running from the stage the singer made a “time out” sign with his hands, the video of which has been circulating all over the internet. Right after Nick’s departure from the venue a spokesperson of the event revealed the reason for his sudden calling of the concert in an official statement to Variety. If you’re wondering what the reason is, keep reading.
Nick Jonas saw a laser pointer pointed at him from the crowd
After the 31-year-old singer ran out of the blue from the ongoing concert the spokesperson of the venue shared an official statement to Variety.
The statement reads, “We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person. The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”
Later on, after the incident when everything seemed normal Nick and his brothers Joe and Kevin resumed their performance while playing “BB Good.”
The safety of the performers has recently been a huge concern. Most recently two months ago Taylor Swift canceled her three Eras Tour shows in Austria due to being a target of an alleged terror plot.
The event organizers of Swift’s concert said at that time, “Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium. We have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety.”
Meanwhile, Taylor also shared a heartfelt note for her fans after the show’s cancellation.
She wrote on Instagram, “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
The terror plot has always been a serious concern for this concert, for instance, in the 2017 bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, U.K., that killed 23 and injured 1,017 and also shooting at Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas during Jason Aldean’s set killing 61 and injuring 800 which happens months before the former incident.
