Zayn Malik can’t forget his history with fellow bandmate Liam Payne.
Malik is currently moaning with fellow bandmate Liam Payne who passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in a Bueno Aires hotel room in Argentina. They both had been part of sensational British boyband One Direction. Earlier Zayn announced his first solo tour is going to take off to the United States over the next couple of weeks. However, it’ll now be rescheduled for the new year for the tragic death of Payne. On October 19, Malik shared an Instagram story to announce the news. Let’s check out his complete statement.
Zayn Malik on postponing his tour
The 33-year-old wrote on his Instagram stories, “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY tour. The dates are being rescheduled for January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days.”
In fact, Malik’s late bandmate Payne was also all set to begin his Stairway to the Sky tour on October 23 in support of his fourth studio album of the same name.
Zayn also acknowledged his fans for understanding his situation and added of the postponed U.S. concerts, “Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”
Apart from the US, he was also going to perform in Scotland and his native England until the first week of December.
The announcement comes days after the “Dusk Till Dawn” singer and his fellow 1D survivors Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson gave a homage to Liam to leave the band in 2015.
Malik wrote on his Instagram with a picture with the late singer, “Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you can hear me, I can’t help but think selfishly that there was so many more conversations for us to have in our lives. I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my life.”
He concluded the heartfelt note, “I love a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly. I will cherish all the memories I have with you in my heart forever.”
