Diljit Dosanjh finally clapped back at rapper Naseeb’s comment on his looks. Naseeb posted a picture of the ‘Chamkila’ star without a turban noting that Diljit doesn’t deserve to be addressed as a Punjabi as he “doesn’t know how to tie a turban.” The picture features Diljit with short hair which is against the Sikh custom. He attacked Diljit by calling him, “You’re Not Punjab… Go and learn how to tie a turban (sic).” Naseeb’s comment comes weeks after the singer created history by doing the “largest ever Punjabi show outside India” at Vancouver stadium which is the part of his Dil-Luminati tour. At the concert he lit up BC Place stadium with a captivating over 54,000 fans. Let’s check out how the ‘Chamkila’ star responded to the backlash.
Diljit Dosanjh responded to Naseeb’s comment on his Instagram story
Clapping back at the rapper Diljit wrote in Punjabi in his Instagram story, “Veere, baut pyar tuanu (Brother, love to you).”
Moreover, he also wished for Naseeb’s success and enlightened the world on the divine presence of the almighty in every human being.
After Diljit’s post, Naseeb shared another post where he addressed the singer-actor saying he was only expressing his views and will delete it later.
Previously the singer also faced objections about his alleged short hair when the first look of the actor’s latest film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ was released. The people questioned his short-hair look and were confused if the “Lover” singer had cut his hair for the film. Later on, Director Imtiaz Ali clarified that he hasn’t cut his hair and only wore a wig for the film.
“I would not want to share his personal details, but yes, Diljit has worn a wig. That wig is like his turban only. He has not sacrificed a single hair for this film. Because he played a character and he knew how Chamkila looked, so he managed to look the part with a wig. He donned the look very sincerely and with very good intentions,” the director told Radio Nasha.
‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ has received immense acclaim especially for Diljit who makes the titular role alive by portraying the role of the slain Punjabi singer. Along with Diljit, actress Parineeti Chopra also earned praise playing Diljit’s on-screen wife Amarjot Kaur.
