Courteney Cox Opened Up About Her Relationship With Late Friends Co-star Matthew Perry

Matthew Perry is there for his friend Courteney Cox even after his death. Six months after her Friends costar’s death, Courteney shared that she still feels her onscreen husband’s presence. On the May 19 episode of CBS Sunday Morning, the actress reveals that the people who were close to her guide her even after their deaths which including Matthew. Courteney starred in this blockbuster sitcom which ran for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004 with Matthew, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc. Courteney Cox said Matthew visits her a lot

The 59-year-old said on the May 19 episode of the show, “He visits me a lot, if we believe in that. I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that guide us. I sense Matthew’s around for sure.”

Moreover, reflecting on the equation with her co-star she added, “I’m grateful that I had that opportunity to work with such wonderful people and to live the life that I have now. That was my family. We went through everything. Those 10 years were everything.”

Cox played the role of Monica Geller began a relationship with Matthew’s Chandler Bing on season four and later got married until the series ended in 2004. She also emphasized on her strong bond with the Fools Rush In actor. 

“I think he’s probably one of the funniest human beings in the world,” she said of Perry. “He is genuinely a huge heart—obviously struggled. I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years.”

Shortly after Matthew’s unexpected death on Oct. 28 at the age of 54, she shared a post reflecting on working with him on the set of Friends.

She penned a heartfelt note with a clip of the duo filming their first scene together as a couple in a November Instagram post. The post noted, “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story.”

Courteney said of the late actor in the post, “He was funny and he was kind.”
