The Office is ready to fill up with a new staff. Actor-director Mindy Kaling who is already a mother of daughter Katherine, 6, and son Spencer, 3 revealed she has welcomed her third child earlier this year. The Office alum shared an Instagram post on June 24 on the special occasion of her 45th birthday to announce the arrival of her bundle of joy this February. The newborn is a baby girl named Anne. The Never Have I Ever creator took to her Instagram on the special moment of her 45th birthday to announce the news. The pictures feature the photo of her three kids together and also herself flaunting the baby bump at the hospital.
She captioned the post, “She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline.”
The news comes three months after she shared insight into her latest chapter of motherhood in an interview with TODAY.com.
The Mindy Project star told the outlet in March, “Literally, all you want as a parent are these glimmers of hope that your children will get along with each other unprompted. When they’re [asked] ‘Who is your best friend?’ they say each other, and that is incredibly moving.”
Moreover, Kaling shared during a 2023 appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna how her mother’s passing in 2012 Impacted her motherhood.
“During a trip to Boston, I was just looking at these guys,” she shared. “They’ll never get to meet my mother, but that’s where I grew up with her. When I was there I just felt like, ‘Oh man.’ The loss of a parent is so intense, and she was my person, but I was like, ‘At least I have these two. And I can tell the story of her.’ And I just felt so blessed.”
