Travis Scott has been freed from police custody after he was arrested on the charges of an altercation with a security guard in Paris. The “goosebumps” rapper whose real name is Jacques Berman Webster II, went to the French captain to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics and was apprehended in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 9 from a five-star hotel. On August 10, Scott’s representative told People that he had been finally released from the charges. Scott reportedly attacked a security guard who attempted to resolve the fight with his bodyguard at the George V Hotel. Let’s check out the key details of this segment.

The rapper who shares two kids Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2 with ex Kylie Jenner reportedly engaged in a fight with his bodyguard as he felt had not been protected from overflowing fans and paparazzi all week while in Paris.
As the incident took a serious turn a security guard had to intervene leading to violent behavior of the rapper towards him as well.
The Paris prosecutor’s officer released an official statement after the incident.
“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly after 5 a.m., the police were called to the Georges V Hotel and arrested the man nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the statement reads. “The latter had himself intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The 1st judicial police district was seized of the investigation by the Paris prosecutor’s office.”
Later on, Scott’s representative also released a statement, noting: “We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.”
This isn’t the first time the 33-year-old has been involved in legal trouble. Previously, on June 20, in Miami, Fla, he was apprehended on the charges of disorderly intoxication and trespass in a property despite receiving a warning.
At that time, the rapper’s attorney Bradford Cohen said in his defense, “Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”
