India faced a disappointing loss in the 2nd Test match with New Zealand. The Kiwis who defeated the men in blue in the 1st test also now lead the three-series Test marking their first-ever Test series win in India. NZ’s Mitchell Santner shows a breakthrough wicket haul by claiming seven in the match held at Pune.

India’s batting order shocking collapse ahead of the 40th over costing the back-to-back wickets of the top order batters like skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Sarfaraz Khan. Despite a groundbreaking knock of opener Yashasvi Jaiswal with 77 runs in just 65 deliveries with nine fours and three sixes the hosts could not save themselves due to the trembling batting. Let’s check out the complete highlights of the match.

The highlight of the 2nd Test of IND vs NZ

Mitchell Santner delivered a groundbreaking performance in both of the innings with match figures of 13 for 157, marking the third-best by any visiting bowler in India.

With bowling 29 overs he claimed six wickets in the second innings, and  claimed seven wickets in the first innings in his 19.3 overs.

Santner’s difficult spinners make the batting order of IND collapse on a difficult note.

After the end of second innings IND get a target of 359 which was seemingly becoming easy with the hand of youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal with 77 runs in just 65 deliveries with nine fours and three sixes. However, he becomes Santner’s third prey after the 23rd over following the wickets of Shubman Gill (23) and captain Rohit Sharma (8).

The host’s disappointing performance continued with Virat Kohli’s 17 runs and Rishabh Pant’s run out at 0 in an irresponsible way.

Later on, Sarfaraz Khan who gets a century in the first Test makes the fan’s hope drown with 9 runs. Although Washington Sundar made an effort with his bat, he failed to stay on the ground for a long time by getting dismissed in just 21 with the ball Glenn Phillips.

After the back-to-back wickets, the experienced players Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin tried to make a stable score which failed after Ashwin lost his wicket in the hand of Santner making only 18 runs.

With Jadeja’s dismissal after a knock 42 the match ended by India putting on only 245 runs getting defeated by 112 runs.

Needless to say, it’s undoubtedly a disappointing moment for the Indian fans who saw the team unvanquished since 2012.
