Nina Dobrev is taking her relationship with her boyfriend Shaun White to the next level.
The actress who has been dating this Olympic gold medalist for over five years is officially engaged. On October 30, Dobrev took her Instagram to share this exciting news to her fans and well-wishers. White shared photos showing off his romantic candlelight proposal. Despite being out of the limelight the couple always proved to be each other’s biggest support system throughout the timeline of their relationship. The Vampire Diaries star shared some romantic photos of the special day showcasing her reaction to Shaun getting down on one knee and a glimpse of her simple engagement ring featuring a large square-cut diamond in the center of a thin band.
The actress wrote a cheeky caption to welcome this new phase of her life, she wrote, “RIP Boyfriend, hello fiancé.”
On the other hand, the former Olympian also shared the photos of the proposal day, writing, “She said yes.”

The big news comes a year after Nina underwent a serious knee fracture from a biking accident, making her hospitalized for months. During this tough time Shaun proved to be her biggest supporter.
The couple first met in 2019, and later made things official in 2020 while they were quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
Shawn who retired from professional snowboarding in 2022 revealed how Nina gave her “love and support” during this transition period of his life as none family and friends were there to see his final competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
The 38-year-old athlete shared at that time, “She knew all of my friends and family couldn’t be there and she got everyone together and made this incredible video of everyone saying how much they wish they could be there and sending their love and support. So that was just so wonderful. It really set the tone for the rest of the trip.”
As for the actress, she also gushed about him numerous times in her social media.
