Nick Jonas spills the bee about his and his wife Priyanka Chopra’s wedding ritual. The “Sucker” singer revealed what is the most difficult tradition to encounter at his Indian wedding with wife Priyanka. The couple tied the knot in 2018 in Jaipur, India with an Indian and Western ceremony. In a recent interview with the People, the singer unveiled a lot of facts.
Nick Jonas said the wedding rituals allowed us to really connect with our families and with each other
The 29-year-old said to the outlet, “There’s this one moment in Indian weddings where the bride and groom are lifted on the shoulders of their family members and there’s sort of a game that’s played where this garland is put on each other. They try to be the first to put the garland on the other. And it’s surprisingly difficult, especially when you have someone as competitive as me and Pri. But whoever is the one to put it on first, that side of the family is the more dominant.”
Moreover, he revealed, “So it’s really for the family members to feel pride and that’s just a funny game. But it’s really heartwarming and a great way for the families to all connect.”
However, according to Jonas the different traditions of their wedding helped him to realize “how similar the different religions actually are and the ceremonies themselves have a lot of heart.”
Apart from the Indian ceremony the couple also had an Western ceremony officiated by Jonas’ dad, Kevin Jonas Sr.
Moreover, he said of their wedding, “That allowed us to really connect with our families and with each other. which is the most important thing.”
Needless to say, apart from sharing different cultures and traditions their love grew even more with time. Moreover, their love also added a new member, their daughter Malti Marie last year.
